Our story begins when our founder’s sister, Monica, went into labour.
After a number of hours (or if you ask Monica, “too many hours”), baby Rayna was finally here! Monica and her husband Paul were ecstatic to see their little one for the first time. In fact, in Monica’s words “It was like seeing my heart with arms and legs”.
But then there was one thing that happened. This one thing that really should not have. This one thing that did not ruin the experience but did not help it either.
Monica came prepared! She had her birthing plan, her hospital bag, and everyone was really excited to spend as much time with the new baby as possible. BUT Monica brought a pack of Size 1 diapers. Now it would only make sense that diaper sizes started at 1. The reality is they start at 0. So someone had to leave that magical moment and go find size 0 diapers at 10pm in the evening. For obvious reasons, no one wanted to leave...
And so our idea was born.
We wanted to surprise and delight new moms and dads at these magical moments. But we didn't want to stop there. More inspiration came from Finland where every new family is provided with a free box of the baby products they need as a means of support. And so we partnered with top brands to provide relevant products to new families at the right time and help them save as much money as possible.
Our goal at Hospital Connection is to support moms, moms-to-be, and families of all shapes and sizes by offering convenient ways to save money on products and services we know they will love.
What We Do
We reach this goal by donating kits to hospitals and clinics. These kits contain products and coupons that new parents will need along their parenting journey. But we don’t stop there. We continue to help and support these parents by providing them with valuable offers that can be redeemed online at mymoments.ca.
We donate these kits for free. However, hospitals and clinics have an option to raise funds by selling these kits at a nominal cost and keep 100% of the proceeds. We strongly believe that not only will these kits support and delight new parents, but also will improve their overall experience with the hospital and clinic.
Who We Are
We are funded through government grants along with the donations and funding from the sponsoring companies. Moreover, we have the support of the Biomedical Zone, a partnership between Ryerson University and St. Michael’s Hospital. This is how we make sure our service is free to our hospitals and prenatal clinics. The products are all based on the feedback of the nursing managers, midwives, doulas, and prenatal educators we work with across Canada. We do not represent any one brand, but rather assist hospitals and clinics in the best possible way we can.
How it Works
We distribute two types of kits depending on where parents are in their parenting journey. These kits are the “Mother to be Kit” and the “Baby Kit”. Parents can always visit us online at mymoments.ca for more exciting offers.
Mom to Be Kit: This kit contains products and gift cards distributed by midwives, doulas, ultrasound clinics and prenatal classes. The kits are provided before the baby is born where each new family receives one package. Inside the Mom to Be Kit is an exclusive code redeemable for online offers at mymoments.ca.
Baby Kit: This kit contains products and gift cards distributed by the hospital. The kits are provided after the baby is born at post partum where each new family receives one package. Inside the Baby Kit is also an exclusive code redeemable for online offers at mymoments.ca.

What Lies Ahead
To more fully realize our vision, Hospital Connection has joined the Square Crop family. Together, we are now able to support even more Canadian moms, moms-to-be, and families than either of us could alone.
